REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA - CALIFORNIA MICROWAVE, INC. (Nasdaq National Market:CMIC) announced that Salvatore S. Benti, 48, has been appointed vice president of business development. Extensive International Telecom Experience Benti has 25 years of business development, sales and marketing management experience in the telecommunications industry, especially in the global marketplace. Benti’s extensive international experience will help California Microwave to expand its targeted overseas markets. He is responsible for worldwide licensing opportunities for California Microwave’s intellectual property and developing offshore business ventures with an initial emphasis on opening markets in Asia and Latin America where he has had substantial successes. Benti joined California Microwave from ComStream Inc., where he was vice president of worldwide sales and business development, responsible for worldwide sales, distribution, and strategic partnering in the satellite communications and digital broadband markets. Prior to joining ComStream, Benti was president of Benti and Associates for five years, providing international consulting, specializing in business development. From 1981 to 1991, he served as senior vice president of marketing and sales, responsible for business development, product planning, marketing and sales worldwide, and long-term strategic planning, at Contel ASC, formerly American Satellite Co. He previously spent six years as manager, major accounts/commercial satellite sales at GE Americom, formerly RCA, and five years as branch manager with ITT Business Systems. Benti holds a BS in marketing and business administration from Seton Hall University.
