HOUSTON, TEXAS -- In his annual meeting speech here today to shareholders, Philip F. Otto, chairman and chief executive officer of California Microwave, Inc. (Nasdaq National Market: CMIC) announced the expansion of its microwave radio manufacturing operations in Houston, Texas. A manufacturing and customer support facility will continue to be maintained in Illinois to support certain customers such as Motorola with which California Microwave has an OEM agreement.
HoustonóKey to Global Strategy California Microwave, Inc. is a leader in satellite and wireless communications. Founded in 1968, the company operates facilities in seven states and sells into more than 110 countries. California Microwave is the number one U.S. supplier of telecommunications satellite earth stations and microwave radios used in wireless communications. Its strategy calls for significant expansion in the wireless area. Sales to Latin America for the companyís fiscal year ended June 30, 1995, represented $63 million out of a total $468 million.
