CALIFORNIA MICROWAVE EXPANDS
RADIO MANUFACTURING IN HOUSTON

HOUSTON, TEXAS -- In his annual meeting speech here today to shareholders, Philip F. Otto, chairman and chief executive officer of California Microwave, Inc. (Nasdaq National Market: CMIC) announced the expansion of its microwave radio manufacturing operations in Houston, Texas. A manufacturing and customer support facility will continue to be maintained in Illinois to support certain customers such as Motorola with which California Microwave has an OEM agreement.

HoustonóKey to Global Strategy
In his remarks to shareholders, Mr. Otto discussed the move to Houston, commenting, "The addition of Microwave Networks last May to the California Microwave family completed the strategy of putting together the broadest line of microwave radios in the country. The transfer of high-volume manufacturing from Bloomingdale, IL, to business-friendly Houston will provide us with a major, modern microwave radio production facility in an affordable region of the country. Houston is extraordinarily important to California Microwaveís transformation from a niche technology firm to a global marketing telecommunications company. It is an important gateway to Latin America, where we expect to triple our business. With the addition of MNI to our wireless operations, we have brought a host of important Texas investors and a pool of truly entrepreneurial talent into the company. And, we have plugged into the Texas network of telecommunications talent based in Houston, Austin and Dallas. The Lone Star will be a real star for California Microwave."
