REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA - CALIFORNIA MICROWAVE, INC. (Nasdaq National
Market:CMIC) announced that its Microwave Networks International (MNI)
unit had been awarded orders totaling $3 million from a prominent
cellular company in the Russian Federation to provide high-frequency
digital microwave radios for a GSM network expansion in the Moscow area.
MNI has provided over 160 radio links to this cellular company over the
past three years. California Microwave, Inc. is a leading U.S. supplier of satellite earth station and microwave radio infrastructure products and information and collection systems. The MNI unit designs and manufactures microwave radio systems for cellular, personal communications services and public and private communications networks. With total implementation capabilities, MNI offers system designs, path engineering, program management, installation, training and maintenance. California Microwave’s facilities are certified to the ISO 9001 quality standard. In June 1997, California Microwave announced its intention to sell its Satellite Transmission Systems and Microwave Networks (of which MNI is a part) business units. J.P.
