CALIFORNIA MICROWAVE ANNOUNCES THREE
SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS PROMOTIONS

SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA - CALIFORNIA MICROWAVE, INC. (Nasdaq National Market:CMIC) announced three key executive promotions at its EF Data division in Tempe, Arizona, a premier supplier of modems and other products for the satellite communications market.

Anderson Promoted to President of EF Data
Mr. Donald V. Anderson, Jr., president of California Microwaveís Mobile Satellite Products (MobileSat) division, has been promoted to the position of president of the companyís EF Data division, succeeding Mr. Ed Shainer, who has retired from the company.

Anderson joined MobileSat in 1989, during the first year of the companyís existence. He has since held senior management positions as vice president of engineering and president of MobileSat before being promoted to president of EF Data. Prior to joining MobileSat, Anderson held various electronic design engineering and management positions with major firms including Rockwell International, Magnavox Advanced Products Co., and Emerson Electric.

Nenaber Adds Product Distribution Responsibility
Mr. Terry A. Nenaber, EF Data vice president for sales and marketing has been promoted to executive vice president, business development, responsible for marketing, sales and international service ventures. Nenaber also has taken on the role of distribution system executive for other products from California Microwaveís Satellite Communications Group. Nenaber has been with EF Data for 14 years, primarily responsible for international business.

Atkins Takes On Operations Role
Mr. Stephen W. Atkins, EF Data vice president for finance and chief financial officer, has been promoted to executive vice president, finance and operations at EF Data, broadening his role to include manufacturing/material, management of information systems, human resources and facilities. Prior to joining EF Data in 1992, Atkins served as senior manager of entrepreneurial services with Ernst & Young.

World-Class Position; Operational Integration
According to Lee F. Blachowicz, president of California Microwaveís Satellite Communications Group, "These promotions reflect the outstanding contributions these individuals have made to the company. We are confident that this team will enhance California Microwaveís world-class position in the international satellite communications arena. To accelerate this process even more, we have merged our MobileSat division into Satellite Transmission Systems (STS). Both units are located in Haupauge, NY. In 1992, MobileSat introduced LYNXXÆ, the worldís first INMARSAT-B transportable satellite earth station. This organizational move is another step in our operational integration strategy to obtain increased marketing synergy among our units."

The MobileSat LYNXX³ earth station was the first INMARSAT-B Unit to be type approved for high speed data. It provides global access to the international public telephone network. STS is a major supplier of satellite communications earth stations, products and networks for INTELSAT, EUTELSAT, ASIASAT and regional satellite applications. EF Data is the worldís leading supplier of modems for satellite commuications and also offers a broad line of multiplexers, RF transceivers and DAMA network products.
