Graham Powell Joins California Microwave: Vice President - Sales, Microwave Network Systems Division

GRAHAM POWELL JOINS CALIFORNIA MICROWAVE:
VICE PRESIDENT - SALES, MICROWAVE NETWORK SYSTEMS DIVISION

SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA - CALIFORNIA MICROWAVE, INC. (Nasdaq National Market:CMIC) announced that Graham John Powell has been appointed vice president of sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Microwave Network Systems (MNS), a new division formed by the merger of TeleCom Transmission Systems division (TTS) and Microwave Network division (MNI). Also, Powell has been named the Wireless Products Groupís regional coordinating executive for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Extensive International Telecommunications Experience
Powell has 29 years of sales and sales management experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to joining California Microwave, Powell was with Digital Microwave Corporation. During his six-year tenure there, he served as vice president for the United Kingdom and for Europe, and subsequently as corporate vice president of worldwide sales and service. From 1978 to 1990, Powell was Group Sales and Marketing Director at Vanderhoff plc, England, which markets and sells telecommunications equipment both in the United Kingdom and for export.
Implementing Wireless, International Strategies
As part of its strategic plan to become a major global competitor in the wireless arena, California Microwave declared in 1992 that it was targeting wireless and international business each to be 60% of sales. Since that time, wireless has escalated from 21% to 49% of sales, and international has expanded from 41% to 48%. California Microwave recently reported a 15% increase in sales to $468 million for its fiscal year ended June 30, 1995.
