CALIFORNIA MICROWAVE WINS $9 MILLION
ORDER FOR MESSAGE PROCESSING SYSTEMS

REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA - CALIFORNIA MICROWAVE, INC. (Nasdaq National Market:CMIC) announced today that its Government Electronics Division in Woodland Hills, California, had received a $9.1 million order from the Department of the Air Force, Sacramento Air Logistics Center, for 24 Stand Alone Message Processing Systems (STAMPS), Fault Assistance Modules, and software support. Deliveries are scheduled to be completed by September 1997.
Bridging the Gap Between Dissimilar Networks
STAMPS is a modularized, expandable system packaged in eight transit cases. The system uses the California Microwave CGS-100 Communications Gateway System for message preparation, receipt, distribution, and message "store and forward" functions. It bridges the gap between dissimilar networks and provides the mechanism for transferring time sensitive information between these networks.
Communication systems based on the CGS-100 are employed around the globe providing deployed units with vital connections to their headquarters and to other units. With over $40 million in orders for CGS-100 related work already booked, California Microwave believes it is the pre-eminent supplier of modern message processing equipment to the U.S. Government.
